Dr. Umut Durak visiting SEL
We are very happy to announce that Dr. Umut Durak, research scientist at the Institute for Flight Systems of DLR (German Aerospace Center) and adjunct professor at the Clausthal University of Technology (Germany), will be visiting the Software Engineering Laboratory (SEL) from February 14th through May 15th.
Dr. Umut Durak research is in the areas of model-based systems engineering, modeling & simulation, and verification and validation of complex systems, with main application to aeronautical systems. In such areas, he has authored over 60 publications in international journals and conference proceedings, co-authored the book "Distributed Simulation: Model-Driven Engineering Approach" (Springer, 2016), and co-edited 3 books, including "Advances in Aeronautical Informatics: Technologies Towards Flight 4.0" (Springer, 2018). He is Vice President of Education of the Society for Modeling & Simulation International (SCS) and Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). He has also been program chair and general chair of leading conferences, such as the SCS Spring Simulation Conference and the SCS Summer Simulation Conference.
During his stay, Dr. Umut Durak will be jointly working with the SEL research group to the integration of Systems Engineering and Simulation Engineering processes in the development of software-intensive and safety critical systems.
Welcome Umut!
